Gándara Receives National Accreditation

The Gándara Center has achieved national accreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA). COA accreditation ensures that we are providing the very best possible services to the individuals we serve and is a mechanism that enables Gándara Center to continually improve and evaluate the way it delivers services. As a partner, you should know that the most vulnerable members in our community have access to high-quality services that have been independently evaluated by COA, a recognized leader in the field of human services.

Founded in 1977, COA is an independent, nonprofit organization that partners with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting appropriate best practice standards. COA standards are formed through extensive literature reviews and a rigorous, multi-stage development and vetting process. Over 2,000 organizations — voluntary, public, and proprietary; local and statewide; large and small — have either successfully achieved, or are in the process of, accreditation. Achieving COA accreditation means our organization is among the best in the field. We are proud to be a part of this community of excellence.

Benefits of Accreditation

  • The improvement of quality of our services and programs by establishing agency-wide ethical practice standards, streamlining processes, and ensuring cultural competence.

  • The improvement of the lives of the individuals, families, and communities we serve by ensuring an ethical and thoughtful approach in the delivery and management of behavioral health services and programs.

  • Increases the accountability and the reputation of the services and programs offered by Gándara’s dedicated and qualified staff.

  • Funders and granters use accreditation as a viable indicator in determining the quality of services and programs, and eligibility.

  • The individual gains the satisfaction of knowing that their individual performance, which is guided by the established set of principles, standards for best practice and regulatory compliance, contributes toward the common good of all individuals.
